Speech & Language Therapy Services

Around 1.4 million children in the UK have long term speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) that they won’t grow out of. That equates to around 10% of children - two or three in every classroom. (ICAN, 2022)

CommuniKate offer support to primary schools and nurseries and can deliver Speech and Language Therapy support which is flexible and catered for the needs of the setting. We work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for children. CommuniKate can work alongside NHS Speech and Language Therapists to help meet the needs of the children in the best way.

As many as 50% of children in some areas of social disadvantage start school without the language they need for learning.

In areas of social disadvantage children and young people are more than twice as likely to have SLCN

(ICAN, 2022)

Parent and Teacher Meetings to discuss progress and offer support

Talk Boost Training Early Talk Boost, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 training

ELKLAN Training

ELKLAN Training courses for staff in settings

Communication Friendly Setting (ELKLAN)

Communication Friendly Setting (ELKLAN) CFS Accreditation for nurseries and schools

Registered tutor for ICAN Talk Boost Programmes and ELKLAN training.
CommuniKate can offer support to meet the needs of your setting. This may include half or full day packages which are weekly, fortnightly, half termly or ad-hoc.
